What this is

Synapse Drip is a free website that makes generative art live in your browser: an endless feed of pieces (the Drip), a Gallery of the pieces people hearted, and a Studio where you can make your own. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

Sharing and using what you make

You may share pictures and clips made here, and use them in your own projects, as long as they keep the small Synapse Drip mark with the web address in the corner. The mark is how people find where a piece came from. Please also say where you got it: Synapse Drip, synapsedrip.com.
Do not remove or hide the mark. A version without it is not offered yet. If you need one, ask (see Contact below).
Do not sell prints, products or collections made from pieces from this site without asking first. Printed products are planned; this will be updated when they exist.
A piece is made by a recipe, which is a short piece of data. Sharing a recipe code or a link to a piece is always fine.

The Gallery and shared links

When you heart a piece, its recipe is added to the Gallery, where anyone can see it, and it may get its own page that search engines can list.
When you copy a link to a piece, the recipe is kept on our server so that the link works. That page can be opened by anyone who has the link. It is not listed in the Gallery or offered to search engines unless someone hearts it.
Recipes contain no names, text you typed, pictures or personal details. They are numbers that describe how a picture is drawn.
We may remove any piece from the Gallery or from the server at any time, for any reason.

Please do not

try to overload, probe or break the site, or get round its limits (each visitor can only add so many pieces an hour);
send the site anything that is not a recipe it made;
copy the whole site or Gallery by automated means at a rate that slows it for others. Ordinary search engines and AI crawlers that follow robots.txt are welcome.

No promises

The site is provided as it is, free of charge, and may change, break or close at any time. Some pictures flash, move or use strong colour; the Motion switch in the Drip pauses them. We do not promise that the site is suitable for any particular purpose, and to the extent the law allows we are not responsible for loss that comes from using it.
