Rounded Paper Waves
6 bands of paper are stacked from the far top to the near bottom; each fills everything below an edge made from three sines and a little noise with its own phase, is lit near the crest and darkens toward its foot as a curved sheet would, and throws a shadow on the layer behind it, with a highlight where the edge turns toward the light.
Hearted by 1 person in the Gallery.
Good to know
- Layered paper art builds depth from shadows: the gap between sheets is often only a few millimetres, but a raking light turns it into a dark line.
In art
- Soft gradients and stacked wave shapes in one hue became a common background style in graphic design in the 2010s.
Made with Wave layers.
